Josh Bywater is thrilled to be making his Route 66 debut, and honored to be a part of the lovely CICADA family.  His Chicago credits include FAT PIG and ONE ARM (Steppenwolf); THE STORY (Goodman); and TIME AND THE CONWAYS and PICNIC (Griffin Theatre).  NYC credits include GREASEMONKEY (Robert Moss Theatre); BEA ARTHUR AND THE KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE (Ars Nova); and FALLING (NYCFringe).  Other regional credits include THE ALIENS, THE CRUCIBLE, ALL MY SONS, THE CHOSEN, and LEBENSRAUM.  Television credits include the upcoming Crisis on NBC, Betrayal, As the World Turns, and Grey’s Anatomy, as well as several short and feature films.  He studied at the School at Steppenwolf and has been a Resident Artist with The CRY HAVOC Company, based out of NYC, since 2009.


Jason Bruffy (Director) is a director of Film, Theatre and New Media. Recently he was the director of the short filmThe Third Option, director of photography and editor of the short film Sam & Julia and the 1st Assistant Director and UPM for the feature film Seven Lovers.  Bruffy has directed music videos for pop artist Ginn Doll and singer/songwriter Clarence Bucaro. His New Media work includes the webseries Token (Official Selection LA New Media Festival and Miami New Media Festival) andCaucAsian (Official Selection and award recognized, Atlanta’s Urban Media Makers Festival), as well asAmericanMDBill Lowe the PillowJosey and Nat,Escaping Single, and 25 episodes of the interview showIt’s a Draw with Natalie Kim. As a 1st Assistant Director, Bruffy also worked on the pilot episode of 110 Landaff, produced by Roberta Munroe, as well as commercials (GIECO, Ruffles, Purina, and others) and a number of music videos. Bruffy has also worked Off-Broadway as Associate Producer of Soho Rep (Obie Award winning Born Bad) and Ensemble Studio Theatre. Bruffy also previously served as Producing Artistic Director of Know Theatre of Cincinnati and is one of the founders of the Cincinnati Fringe Festival entering its 12th season. Bruffy has directed stage productions all over the US with over 35 productions to his name, including the world premieres of Steve Yockey’s Pluto and Sean Christopher Lewis’ Militant Language. Notable companies include: The Claque (NYC), Flea (NYC), Ensemble Studio Theatre (NYC), Interact Theatre (PA), Orlando Shakespeare Festival (FL), Florida Studio Theatre (FL), Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival (OH), as well as others.
